Music of Mayo Festival (19th to 21st July): A 3 day celebration of traditional music, song, storytelling and heritage will bring together artists and communities from across Mayo and beyond to Castlebar, Bridge St Bar & Venue. Find out more
Reek Sunday (26th July): The annual pilgrimage is held on the last Sunday of July, drawing thousands of people from across Ireland and around the world to County Mayo. Pilgrims gather to climb Croagh Patrick, Ireland’s holiest mountain, also known as The Reek.

Mayo Dark Sky Festival (30th October – 1st November): Marking their 10 year anniversary in 2026, the Mayo Dark Sky Festival celebrates the outstanding night skies and unique cultural, natural and environmental heritage of the communities surrounding the Mayo Dark Sky Park. The three-day festival features astronomy talks, biodiversity and cultural events, art exhibitions, live music and guided stargazing, giving visitors the opportunity to experience one of Ireland’s finest dark-sky destinations, with more than 4,000 stars visible on clear nights. Westport Sea2Summit (7th November 2026): Embrace the Westport Sea2Summit, a unique adventure race based in Westport, featuring iconic terrain including Croagh Patrick, Clew Bay and the Great Western Greenway. The event includes road running, cycling and mountain hiking. Find out more
